Hi all, I'm a Boxster 987.2 2.9 owner, and have noticed that my driver's door makes a rattling noise when driving over uneven surfaces. The sound eminates from either the door pull area/speaker area.

Anyone know if this is a common issue and if there is an easy fix? or do I have to take the whole door card off to see what may be causing it?

Also, I sometimes get a buzzing noise from the plastic mesh in the roll bar hoops. Any ideas for fixing that?

Thanks all!

Dave

I have a similar problem on my 996 since having the window motor replaced. The door pull area tends to vibrate at a certain low speed. It stops if I press my arm against it. Not sure how to resolve the problem (cheaply).

I had a similar problem on my 997 GT3, apparently quite common as OPC fixed it by removing the door cards and fitting some kind of tape.
They also had a nifty CD which has different frequency sound outputs, and can pinpoint the vibrations and rattles inside the car when stationary.

Neither had I, it was an official Porsche disk and definitely picked up all suspect areas, wouldn't mind getting my hands on one myself.

Very clever, such a simple idea when you think about it, but not that simple to think of - if that makes sense!
