Hello - the car is a 996 GT3 Clubsport in Silver, 18k miles @ 36k:

Any views on the car would be greatly appreciated, as its in Darlington and I am in London - I am going to arrange for the car inspected next week some time.

Service History is mostly Unit 11 in Cheshire and Porsche Shop in Birmingham - its travelled far to its current dealer.

Thank you and much appreciated, f

It'd be worth giving Unit 11 a call. Roger, one of the owners, had a silver GT3 a few years ago, it could even have been his car, which was a particularly exceptional example.

Thanks goose, this is what I've found:

After doing some digging, it seems it was originally owned by Rodger from unit 11 in Cheshire. Who sold it to an "older" gent in the Cotswolds towards the end of 2008, it then had a service at porscheshop in may 2010 but I can't find any history since.

Stamps in the book say:
3/3/06 OPC Solihull 3542
15/05/07 unit 11 6022
07/08/07 unit 11 8762
12/08/08 unit 11 10696
20/05/10 porscheshop 13402
Then nothing, seller says it was done by his local Bosch centre in June 2012 but not stamped. How big an issue is this, considering its done minimal miles anyway ? From the point where it was due at the 2 yr interval its travelled only from Darlington to OPC Newcastlte for an inspection.

I have the OPC inspection report commissioned by the guy in the above thread. It's dated 11/09/2012 but unfortunately as the cars now over 9yrs old, they say I can't purchase an OPC warranty ?

The report highlights:
Missing front splitter
Aftermarket oil, water, washer caps (replaced by retailer as oem's were grubby)
Roll cage obstructs light switch - not Porsche approved (I thought the OEM front cage obstructed the light switch anyway ?)
Mixed N ratings front/back tyres
Small cracks in front discs (advise only, within tolerance)
Slightly unsteady at speed (advise Geo and tyres)
Ignitions in rev range 2 (advise) - this us the biggest bug bear for me, I've spoken to Newcastle this morning they have the report but the number of ignitions and operating time of it occurring aren't logged and say it would need to be read again to give me this.

I've spoken to Roger on the phone today and everything stacks up to the point where he sold it (only mod done by him was a Motorsport diff pack) but Porscheshop seem to not keep much in terms of records of work carried out.

What's the general consensus on the "missing service" and other points on the inspection ?

Since you can't get an OPC warranty best thing to do would just to be approach it as you would any other car. Go by condition not service history. If in doubt get your own OPC inspection done.
