What would it cost to retrim a 996t? Is it in the least bit practical if the car is cheap enough - mainly because the interior is so grim?

Depends, if its just seats then not so much, if its everything including dash its going to get silly as everything will have to come out.

The sky is the limit as ever - in this example, 200hrs work were required.

I suppose you could source a replacement interior from a breaker but you will end up paying a high percentage of the cars worth for a quality job, whichever route you take.

I would like to retrim my Boxster and I've already done the man-maths and could justify it on the basis that it would encourage me to keep it for another 10 years as opposed to trading up to a newer model that would just depreciate by a similar amount! wobble

You can look for a complete interior in better condition that's for sale and refresh that way.
Probably cheaper and simpler if you aren't looking for non stock materials/colours.
You can probably pick one up for about £1000-£1200.
It's a pretty easy swap out if you are relatively capable with tools.

You can get replacement seats for about 400 quid. Don't know about the rest.

I bet I can guess why you're asking that question. Other than the interior that car looks a bargain, especially with the recent price drop.

I agree, you never know, it might not look as bad in the the flesh. Some of the interior photo's don't do it any favours. (assuming we are talking about the same car)

you'd have to be naive (perhaps a little 'green') to spec a car with that interior...

Didn't take a genius to work it out!
Its only just up the road but that interior! Sold on ebay for 17.5 so we'll see if it actually goes.

I now think I also know which car is being talked about. The colour may look a little different without camera flash, but you still wouldn't want to be in there with a hangover

I can't believe someone would even consider commissioning a job like that!

Financially it's idiotic. I wonder how much they charge per hour?

That said, it looks fantastic.
