From my basic understanding ........ The recommended rule of pad changing is when friction material is at 50%. So starting with 12mm you are ok until 6mm. Be aware that the inner pads wear quicker than the outer pads and swapping them round is also recommended to even out wear.
The discs have wear markers on them but again the rule of thumb is to look closely at them and if they are all pitted and grooved , they have had it. Porsche allow a certain number of chips but a healthy disc is a nice shiny flat one. Whilst still shiny and looking good they may become "thin" and the only way to check is to weigh them as mentioned above but I have read this wont happen for many many many miles.

Interesting topic to me as I have no experience with Carbon brakes. A well looked after non tracked car should be good for 100k miles I thought I read somewhere but not sure about the pads.
Are PCCB's ok in a cold snowy winter, do they retain their feel?
Cheers
Simon
Brilliant in the winter. Padgid pads are a good choice to change to when the originals are getting low but fit them all round. Are PCCB's ok in a cold snowy winter, do they retain their feel?

Never had any problems driving the 997.1 GT3RS in the snow (or winter) - yup did quite a few in the snow in London but really going to Courchevel snowboarding a few times. Carbons were great, didnt find any noticeable difference from summer driving.I had Pagid R29 on.
I did 30kmiles (loads of city driving, mine was our London daily, lots of highway and 8 trackdays) on mine without any failure or signs of fading. Super happy with them.
