So this year I had the suspension rebuilt at a cost of over 3k, next spring I'm going to get the wheels and front bumper attended to after 6 years and 25k of driving.

From a few feet away it's incredibly smooth, unblemished and perfect. But I see when polishing it there's a bit of road rash behind the wheels and there are the occasional little chips here and there on the wings plus a tiny little scratch on the passenger door.

What's the best approach? Leave them as "patina" on a genuine car that's not been kept in a bubble all its life?

Or drop it around to my main dealer or perhaps someone like that place behind Porsche HQ for a comprehensive restoration wherever needed?

If I went Cambridge OPC for the kind of prep they'd do with a showroom car, what kind of bucks might I expect?

How about from that specialist behind HQ?

Obviously I'll ask the players for sure but just interested.

hehe

SM I like the patina'd look myself as long as its not too bad but once you got the rash through the top coat just get it cut in.

Have heard they are good. But also get a quote from OPC MS who use SL Restoration in Slough. Always go via the OPC so you get your guaranteed for life certificate and who, in the case of MS, could beat every quote out there... smile

I've had two bumper resprays front and back and they are flawless smile

Thanks for the tip re: Mid Sussex (supplying dealer actually) and I never thought about the OPC guarantee either so thanks!

Maybe I take a drive down there one of these sunny autumn days.
