£130 to fit spark plugs on a 996!!!!!

Well my car, 996 C4S, was in at a local indy for replacement radiators on Monday. I had plugs to fit, but decided whilst the car was in the garage and up in the air, I'd ask them to fit the plugs for me and add it to the bill.
Anyway, went to collect the car, and they charged me £130 to fit a set of plugs that I supplied!!! Is it just me, or does that sound bloody expensive!!?? The last time I changed a set on a 996 it took me less than an hour, and that was lying on my back with the car on wheel ramps!!!

They told me that a couple of coil bolts were rusty and they had difficulty with them!! I think most Porsche dealerships (obviously!) and indies are used to folk going in that are useless around cars. I only asked them to do the job to save me a little hassle, and I feel they have taken the pi55!! I told them "I wish i had just did the job myself!!", to be told "you'd never have got the bolts out!!!". I f'n would have! I'm a mechanical engineer, with vast ammounts of experience on cars, and Gas Turbines!! LolAsk to see what the book time for plug change is.

I hate using garages because a lot of them completely take the piss. last time I used one for a job I couldn't do, it resulted in me getting pretty irate. Even when I spoke up they tried to make excuses.. I picked up on every single f
k up they made (yes there was about 5 of them!) refused to pay and made them do the job again.. fkers.Try to do literally everything myself now.
There are a couple of good ones out there though, its just finding them!

Whenever I drop my car off for anything, I ALWAYS ask before they do the job how much they are going to charge. Sometimes they give a range, and if I think too much I will shop around. It may appear a little 'cheap' but to be honest it would save from paying two hours labour for a half hour job. No offence but what proof is there that the indie is lying purely for commercial gain ?
All I see here are lots of 'what rip offs' 'what a liberty' type comments and no substance, for the average Joe a fecked or seized bolt would end any home DIY, it would for me, and if you the OP are such a talent then maybe you should have done it yourself.
But jumping to the conclusion that you are being ripped off is a bit of a stretch, if you were that adamant that was the case you'd have made more than a flippant 'should have done it myself' comment.

You chose to use their "vast amounts of experience on cars" and they charged you for it. They can be an awkward job to do and depending on how much they charge £130 doesn't sound too excesssive.

I never said I was "a talent", merely that I am capable of removing a seized/problematic bolt. £130 is too expensive to change plugs in a 996. What use would more than the "flippant" comment have done me? I paid the money and I won't be back, end of!

I use 2plus2 porsche specialists in the west midlands, both partners are ex opc with vast experience, Chris takes my car and will email as many photos of items that need attention well before getting the spanners out just so I know he's honest and not ripping me off, mostly he gives me a fixed price up front and will do many small jobs free that would normally bump up the bill, great service!
OPC prices are pretty good for the older cars including fixed pricing normal services. A few good local specialists were charging the same or if not more to change the lower control arms. OPC also gives you two yr warranty on parts as well? Indies may use the same genuine parts but somehow only pass on the 1 yr warranty. plus you get a nice courtesy car from OPC.
