Red headlining & door cards, and wood trim steering wheel and dash surrounds.

Can it have come from the factory like that?

I quite like that, except for the timber. Replace the wood with leather and would be sorted for me.

what a mess!

I can only assume seats were red and swapped at some point.

Bits of woods added and fake carbon sticker around the ashtray.

Dog's dinner would look better.

I agree. get shot of the timber and that'd look OK. The Boxster red leather never photographs correctly and when the full interior is covered in the stuff (dash & steering wheel) it does that the looks of a dogs dinner.

However, if you are partial to black coachwork and red interior (BMW and Audi get it to work) then I suspect this will look OK in the flesh.

Once again, however, the caveat is get rid of the rainforest.

If the seats were red and the roof lining black then I think it would be ok.
As long as the timber was removed and the door speaker painted black.

Anything is possible if you have sufficient money and insufficient good taste.

Nothing at all. It's the turbo aero kit.

I would have thought it better to advertise it as the Turbo Aerokit then... Weird

It definitely could have left the factory that way. Have a look at the "Exclusive" section from original 996 Turbo brochure. I particularly like "We offer interior packages and accents to accomodate every discriminating taste"!!!
