Is it just me or does anyone else hate the front end styling of the 997 ?
Probably get a slating for my opinion but everytime I look at it - trying to give it a fresh chance - I HATE it !! Looks bloody aweful.
The front of the 996 has drawn critisism but I think it looks leagues better that the front of the 997 !!

but I came across one 2 weeks ago in London and it looked far better than a 996
bet the owner wasn't too pleased
Filthy!
I like the central exhaust pipes, plus all the GT3 cup race cars have central exit pipes, so it must be benificial to the engine in some way?

Those performance stats look distinctly underwhelming. My humble MK 1 GT3 is capable of a 0 - 60 time of 4.5 secs and this drops to the low fours for both MK 2 and RS versions. According to Porsche, all 3 GT3 varients have top speeds in the 185-190 range yet according to the article, 'with suitable gearing a top speed of 180MPH is possible!
Does this mean the new model with have barndoor aerodynamics and weigh 1600KG?
I think its a shame that Porsche are gonna ditch the GT1 based 3.6 engine in favour of a tuned version of the 997 'S' model. This is one of the alltime great engines IMO both in terms of performance and noise.
