Why? Is it for a road or race car?

Curious on what grounds do you make such sweeping statement?

People think centre locks are a good idea, but tbh they're not, even on race cars it's a bad idea, apart from 1 single perspective, that is the speed to change a wheel, by any other meaasure they are a liability, you need special tools to get the wheels on/off, a 5-600Nm torque multiplier to get them to stay on, which in real money is a 6 foot lever on the socket, if 1 nut comes loose you're in the hedge, if 1 out of 5 come loose you still get home.. not to mention the cost, best guess @ £5000 for a set + tools / special sockets etc to use.., you also need to have opposite hand threads on the threads to the side of the car they are on so they tighten under braking, and after a few heat cycles they always come loose as most stub axles are steel, wheels alloy, the nuts can be Titanium, but 2 or 3 different expansion coefficients only have 1 result..! stick with the 5 stud pattern if I were you wink
