Quick question on 997 gen1 & 2

I keep coming back and looking at 911's - isn't that half the fun. I'll be changing my car in a few months and as usual on a Sunday cycle down to my local dealer. I looked at this one which appears good value (for Switzerland).

To save me researching, when was the Gen1 to Gen2 change and what were the biggest improvements?

I think the main revisions for the gen 2 were:

More power
Revised front suspension
PDK semi automatic gear box instead of Tiptronic (manual still available on both)
Fancier LED front and rear lights
Tarted up interior
Better sat nav and stereo

Probably the most important change was switching to the new (and current) 9A1 engine

That's nearly £30k more than it would be in the UK, I take it importing one isn't possible?

Well, you can get good discounts and additionally all cars from Switzerland come with 10 years free servicing, very long warranties and low rate leasing. Once you take all into account I would say cars are about the same price.
