I bought this car from an OPC five years ago, and have maintained the porsche warranty each year. I am led to believe that on expiry this December I will not be able to renew again on the basis of age of vehicle. Mileage wise we are only on 60k.

If am out of time and cannot renew, can I pay for a 111 point check now, and other than wear and tear items, get anything else fixed before the warranty expires. Or would you take it to an Indie for a check over to see if any warranty fixes are lurking about without warning the OPC in advance.

Ideally I would just like to extend one more time as it has paid for itself over the years, but it appears if the car tips over 10 years during the next warranty period they won't renew now. Surely it should be the age of the car on the renewal date that determines this.

Any advice would be appreciated.

From what I remember when it is 9 years you can't do it. Onlyy way would have been to get a two year policy when it was 8 years old - i.e at your last renewal. I think now you can no longer renew.

Thanks. I seem to remember the 2 year option was a bit of an account emptier just before Christmas so I ducked it and went for the one year.

OPC told me extended warranty only covers parts that have failed. Not those that may be failing. Hence my Cayman RMS that is weeping will not be changed yet. But should be done when noticeable increase in oil consumption.

So, I don't think work will be done on basis of what a 111 check will find.

I'll be facing a similar dilemma in April, car will be 9 yrs old with 6 months of warranty remaining, I'm planning on renewing for another two yrs so I'm guessing ill have to do it early before the cars birthday.

You won't be able to get two years if its 9 years old. Read post above.

"Also a car must meet the terms and conditions of the Approved Warranty and it can be purchased until your car is 9 years old or has covered 125,000 Miles (or 8 years for a 2 year policy)."
My mistake, in which case I'd be paying a years money for six months worth of cover so I may as well leave the cash in the bank or go aftermarket.
