I'm sure I've seen a 911 cab (I think 996) with a roof box. If so, does one exist that can be fitted to a 964?

We have a sprog and a box would seriously increase weekends away without recourse to the boring estate!

You might be able to fit one to a hard top... not sure how it would fix to a canvas roof.

If you've got a hard top already, this could be worth investigation.

I'm sure what I saw was a rag-top, i.e. no hard-top fitted. Presumably the roof bars somehow attached to the frame.

I have seen a similar arrangement on a Boxster, with its roof down.
I think the roof bars must have atached over the roof mech so it still worked, don't ask me how though.

Here's one on a boxster. Presume the same could be done for a 911.

It's called the Dach Transportsystem in German (roof transport system. Your OPC should be able to give u the part number.

How about a nice chromed luggage rack for the bootlid? You could get some strong leather straps and buckles to hold your trunk on, too.

Wow, that is quite novel

It's available as Tequipment from an OPC. I have one of the Tequipment books from a couple of years ago and it was listed there for 996. I've only ever seen one once. That was at Le Mans. He had the top down and this huge box over his head, very practical and quite wacky - I love it

Thanks guys. Seems the system fits 993 cabs so I assume they'll fit a 964 cab - the roofs are the same I think.
