Received the promo email for the Cayenne Turbo S last week while I was away.

Just checked the details now, surely the figures are wrong???

Turbo - 0 to 62 = 4.7 and 173mph
Turbo S - 0 to 62 = 4.5 and 175mph

Given the price is not yet listed who would pay the usual £10K premium for an S over the standard Turbo

By comparision, the Panamera is
Turbo - 0 to 62 = 4.2
Turbo S - 0 to 62 - 3.8

I read somewhere that Cayenne Turbo S UK price is £108,000 (autocar, I think).

I would wager that the brakes on the S are better than the standard turbo, as you would certainly need them....

try looking at the 0-180mph rolleyes

0-60 is for housewifes who watch top gear ... its about as relevant as stating the number of molecules that make up the steering wheel

How many optional extras are included as standard on the Turbo S over the Turbo?

Suppose it gets to the point with the aerodynamics and weight that you'd need huge amounts of extra power to make a massive difference to the stats.

The normal turbo isn't exactly under powered!

??? As the top speed is 175mph, you'd be looking at the 0 to 180 for a long long time rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

Exactly, thats why I'd be expecting 4.2 secs maybe

Air-suspension, 21 inch wheels, PTV, SC, PDCC, Bose all standard on the Turbo S

In gear acceleration not far off but the Cayenne Turbo S weighs over 200KG more than the Panny Turbo and is significantly challenged in terms of aero-dynamics.

I know which one I prefer and it's not the panny, this Turbo S has no rivals, in terms of performance it is peerless.

Don't really understand why anyone care about big power in a SUV, they are big chunky stuff and family haulers that can't corner or brake. Nice family cruisers, but thats about it.

What's wrong with watching top gear or being a house wife?

If you are spending 100k on a Turbo, why not spend the extra £10k on getting "the daddy" in the Turbo S?

You get the extra Power, additional kit (which you would spec on the Turbo anyway?

Suspect actual cost difference between a specced Turbo and Turbo S simply not significant, and certainly not significant to those fortunate enough to be in that market.

And the residual will be better.

I have to agree with your comments, part of the reason I sold my older Cayenne Turbo was while it was great in a straight line blast, it just felt to big for the corners, plus you ride so high even with the air suspension.. I would prefer that sort of power in a bigger saloon, if I did need something bigger. I am not doubting the Cayenne's ability, just didn't feel right for me..

I spec'd a Turbo S to the same spec as my Turbo and the price difference was over £12K. Only item the S had was the new DAB radio which wasnt available at the time I ordered mine.
This is my point £12K extra for not a significant difference in performance.
IMO residual values on S models will be greater
