Had the 1st service on my Spyder today. Porsche Centre Bristol done a great job excellent service. One problem though it needs two new rear tyres after just 8000 miles. Is that good or not? Any one bought some lately and what type of money where they?

Well done! Mine on 12k miles and still plenty of life left. Much better than my old 911 C4.

What is yours fitted with? Mine has Bridgestones.

Well done. It sounds as if you've been driving it as it was intended. I notice you are from S Wales, in which case I recommend Celtic Tyres. They have consistently bettered prices of places such as Camskill, and Mytyres on the last two occasions when I've needed replacements.

It,s running on Good Years which I thought were pretty good overall. Not so on mileage though.I heard Pro Tyres in Bristol were good.Any one been there and do you need to stick to the same make of tyre for front and rear?

I would not want to run Bridgestones thats for sure, I took them off my Cayman.

PS'2 work well in the dry but I would fit Pilot super sports over them now for road use.

Buy I love the PS2 I have them both on the spyder and the GT3.

Definately not recommended to mix makes of tyres even on different axles. MPS2's are about as good as you can get if you want/need N rated, otherwise go for MPSS as suggested.

No complaints with the Bridgestones,
the car came with them new and they have been fine. My 996 had pilot sports and I can't say they were any better but they certainly didn't last the same. Honestly!

They did not last the same as they are softer and great in the dry.

A much better dry tyre than the bridgestones, but not as good in the wet, but as its on a Spyder most seem to get used more in the dry.
