Having located sets of both 18" and 19" wheels and tyres to suit my Cayman S now that I have decided on winter boots, would like some advice on whether the 18" set are likely to be a better option in cold conditions. My current wheels are 19" but I understand that 18" wheels are better in winter. Thanks.

18s would likely be quite a bit cheaper too.

Porsche specify only the fitment of 17" or 18" for Winter tyres for the Cayman/Boxster.

18's .... I would have thought! Don't see the point in having 19's for bad weather / snow! smile

18s or 17s all day long - smaller, narrower tyres are better in snow/wet conditions.

Porsche specify only the 18" for Winter tyres for the Cayman S/Boxster S.

I don't think 17's will fit over the bigger breaks*.

*that's how you write 'brake' on PHs, right?

Just be careful with insurance if you change the wheels. I had to declare this "modification" to my insurance company. Tyre changes on wheels that shipped with car was fine, changing wheels with (winter) tyres was not and needed to be declared.
