I am heading down Route 66 next week, and there is a big storm heading in with unpredictable consequences, so the time had some

This morning, filled up with ethanol-free Shell

Drove over to my mate Phil's place where one of the cars is stored

Up on the tire cradles

There are permanent charger leads on the cars, so putting on the trickle charger is a breeze and the trunk can be closed

Cover, goodbye car, sleep well, it was a nice season.

This weekend.

The Cayenne is currently being inspected at the dealer or the AZ run and then we need to get bearings packed on the trailer and check the brake controller etc. Depending on the storm we will pull out at 4am Thu or Fri....

I thought it was better to leave very little fuel in as it goes off over time, so better to leave plenty of space to put fresh in when it comes back in to use?

I got all emotional there!!

Yer big Jessie - the splitter would make a perfect plough (or should that be plow) for clearing those streets and being rear engined you get plenty of traction!

I did that and the car would not start - the car was left nearly empty and the fuel simply would not fire.

Best to fill the car up with ethanol/methanol free petrol, since less space for water laden air that can condense into the fuel <edit> or oxidise the fuel<\edit> .
Petrol takes around 6 months to start deteriorate <edit> in sealed container and a few weeks in a car tank <\edit> but a large amount of ethanol/ methanol in the petrol will cause the RON to drop after 100ish days - also ethanol/menthol absorbs water - not good for the engine.

Is it cold over all of Canada?

Are there bits in Canada where it isn't so cold?

I've met a few Canadians and I though they were the nicest people on earth. I've even thought of moving there. But I don't like the cold. Are there warm bits?

Its not always coldsmile....in summer it can reach 35c and is often 30. In winter it it often -15 and sometimes -25. The West coast is much more moderate with little snow in winter. The people are fine and pretty much have the same distribution of nice and nasty as anywhere elsesmile

They are very light stiff foam. I bought them on the web. Just stop flatspotting. They are called tire cradles and should be easily available.

I have been in BC, on the west coast, in early summer and have never seen so much snow. If that is moderate...

Winter wheels and M+S tyres going on my GT3 as soon as possible. Will probably have to remove the Cup splitter if we get more than a couple of inches of snow though.
Really looking forward to using it when it starts to get a bit slippery out.
