993 hood problem

Hi I've got a 993 with a problem with the hood. when i try to open the roof the windscreen hooks open and the hood opens aprox 1 inch then stops.I can hear the motors going but the hood will not retracted.Any help would be appreciated. I suspect its the cables if its the same as the 964.

If not on here can I suggest you post on 911uk.com under the 993 section - very friendly bunch on there and at least one guy with a 993 cab who is very helpful.

If they can't help they'll know someone who can....

Agree wtih 911uk. I had a problem with my 993 hood - I had bust it as a result of trying to put it up with the tonneau cover on! The guys on there diagnosed the problem and my local indie sorted it out. You can manually open / close the roof which may be fine, at least over the winter!

Also, do check with your local OPC that it's had the recall done (it's still valid AFAIK), which is free.

It will either be cables or micro switches.

From memory the micro switches are either in the header panel or either sides of the rear seats.

Fairly easy to swop out, had similar with my 993 it was about 10 years ago now though.
