Simple question... Having found my battery flat last week after a few weeks without using it I kicked myself as I had bought a conditioner, but not got around to fitting it. The battery is now fine and I won't repeat my mistake, but I have realised after a quick spin this morning that leaving the boot open when connecting the conditioner keeps the boot light on. Obviously I could take the bulb out, but is there another way without closing the boot? When I get a chance I will route the conditioner leads so I can shut the boot whilst charging

Hi Acf,

On my 996 the conditioner and battery leads sit in the front compartment, I then run the power lead to the wall socket out the front corner of the bonnet right besside the headlight.
You can then close the bonnnet properly to lock and alarm the car.

I know you said "without closing the boot", but I can't really think of one. smile

The lead for my battery conditioner is routed out by the windscreen wipers where there is a gap even with the bonnet closed.

Why not plug it into the cigarette lighter - can shut the door and lock it with the cable running under the bottom of the door.

you can flick the boot catch over with a flat blade screwdriver. Just make sure you release the boot catch before you close the boot afterwards.

You can always disconnect the light...a flat blade screwdriver to prise it from the fixing & simply pull the connectors off

+1. It is a 5 second job to flick it out and disconnect. I did this when leaving my bonnet open for any period of time.

Why would you want to leave your boot open though? confused
