Looks "stanced" in that first shot but I assume it's just the angle of the photo.

Like the bonnet air outlet though, can't see the road cars going for that one!

You know, he retired in 94, and STILL his legacy lives on.

Should know more in a couple of weeks. Cup is meant to launch officially in early December. It will start racing early 2013.
Story says that's the GT3R which makes more sense, RSR isn't going to race until 2014 I thought so would seem early to be knocking about.

I'd heard (as have many others) that the Cup is going to be much closer to the RSR this time round. I expect in the way the grand am cup cars are though rather than as per this full blown wide body machine.

Any configuration with 8 cyl for the RSR would be fantastic news.

I think ze germans are to stubborn to change from the flat six. fingers crossed though. i know that the 991 cup is apparantly having the 3.8 engine. this is the r version though. the exhaust does look like the 997 rsr that we took body moulds off. only time will tell whats in the back! beautiful car though

But in the good old days they used to put all kind of configurations in the same cars so it isn't outside the realms of possibilities. But we aren't in the 60s/70s anymore and I guess there just isn't the money frown

i was supposed to be looking at tuning options for 997 gt2s as thats a option for my cayman racer now and ended up finding another shot. i honestly think they are to stubborn to change the flat 6 but we will have to wait and see. just read a thread on rennlist on the 997 gt2 forum that they are staying with the 4 litre but might push the boundaries a bit more with that. its all speculation though. only time will tell

The 4.3 litre Mezger based RSR engines have been racing reliably for a while now, 582PS 525Nm 5500 to 7500rpm.
Here is one on the engine dyno following a miss shift rebuild.

This is just awesome. The 991 is the 911 to be reckoned with. Well done Porsche.
