Yep, I love people who think like this. Very clever.

Lovely car. I'm really starting to get into the old stuff lately.

I heard years ago that this is how they were done originally, just dipped in black paint to a certain depth.

Nice car eh?

Hmm, I'm not really sure he could get a SC down to 820kgs when that was the lightest the factory ever got a swb 2litre.

About the weight of a 911R. I guess all the kevlar panels make a big difference. Engine bay looks great

Yes yes, I guess it looks nice, but it would be faster with PDK. You could then concentrate on your lines. whistle

Did he say 820kg or 870,slim chance of 820 even dry weights with a sc tub and 915 ali box etc,870 poss with no cage.

I'm building something very similar right now....'72 car, 3.0 engine, on webers, no heater, gulf blue. I'm having a little bit of carpet and steel panels....so not as light weight but still it'll be raw, beautiful and plenty quick enough for me.

Anything that predates the 1920's is considered an antique. Vintage items date from the 1920's-1980's. A great rule of thumb is 20-90 years old is vintage.

If I wanted to do a similar project, what is the received wisdom on the best starting point as a donor? Early cars are lightest, but I think that Singer has swapped to 964's as a basis?
Who sells the Kevlar panels for a backdate like this and does anyone do lightweight autoclaved CF panels?
Just considering the next project
