I have started to notice that when I take the handbrake off and take the car out of the garage I get an initial clunking noise as if it is stuck and also when I initially brake it seems as if the front wheels wobble slightly then everything is fine. Is this just a case of the brakes sticking probably due to infrequent use (car only used at weekends)or could it be something else. Has anyone else experienced this. I have extended the porsche warranty on the car but I would assume that this may not be covered under the warranty. I would assume that the handbrake and front brakes are linked but I have no technical knowledge of cars at all.

Normal. If possible brake the discs dry before parking up and definitely don't wash the car before you leave it. The handbrake and front brakes aren't connected.

Also if it is parked on the flat then leave it in gear with the handbrake off. This will stop the pads sticking to the discs.

Not true; the handbrake is via shoes within the rear discs, not pads in the calipers.......

D'oh true & I should know it! But the noise is the shoes getting stuck so the overall theory still applies.
