Hi All,

I am picking up a new Boxster on Saturday and one of the keys is not working. Does anyone know what a new key and recoding would cost from Porsche please?

TIA

Are you kidding?? Wow I remember OPC's knew how to charge but that is at vaseline levels of hurt.
Is there a way of getting this done that is a little more wallet friendly?

Do you know what's wrong with it? you can get a new button pad from an OPC for about £10 or it might be that the remote is just not working because it hasn't been used with the car for a long time, if that's the case try opening the car and starting the ignition with the key once that's done the remote can then be used (presuming it's not faulty)

From what I have read so far it seems the circuit board can fail which if that is the case sounds like an expensive fix. I have to go on the premise that its a worst case scenario as I will be the one left to pick up the bill if it does need a new key and coding.

I think Timpsons can provide a copy for about 30 quid. But this is from memory that I read it on Boxa.net forum almost 10 years ago.

How do they code it to the car?
