Frustratingly, the stereo in my 2009 Gen 2 Boxster keeps losing my stored radio settings. I manually store my stations using the "press and hold" method, and often, I'll turn the car off, get out, lock up, and when I come back to the car, all those stored stations are gone and it defaults to 87.5 FM and a completely blank screen. It also randomly sets TP to "on" + there are ticks in the Regional & RDS boxes. In other words - I lose all my presets.

Is this a common fault? Is there an easy fix? Am I doing something wrong?!

While driving, and you switch the radio off for a couple of minutes, does you also loose the presets?

Sounds like the battery positive feed has been lost, fuse blown on back of set possibly.

There is an update CD available for the CDR30 to address the issue you are experiencing; the disc is a 'special tool' part not available to customers but any OPC should have it (auto issue)

The disc number is WKD.951.910.11

Check with your OPC before taking it in
