guys, is it a bad thing to have the basic seats (non buckets) ?

presumably aircon and buckets makes for the best resale ?

Air con is must in my opinion Buckets are a bonus.
You have to go on a GT3s condition history.
Seats can be changed if you want to either way.

There will be more along soon no doubt.

Forget resale, the buckets are just fabulously comfortable to sit in. smile

Are you looking to buy?

'Buckets' are very much a personal taste & will also depend on whether SWMBO comes in the car/wants to drive it....I put them in a previous car intentionally wink though I too find them more comfortable than the sports seats that you can get in Porkers

If I were to buy another 996 GT3 I would only buy one with buckets.

They are great to sit in and more comfortable than Sports seats which are too flat (wide ass Germans and Americans!)

There are GT3 buckets in the classified for a grand.....surely you find a good car then sort the seats if required?

the weight saving is the one for me, from memory 996 buckets are Porsche trimmed Pole Positions which weight 10kg per seat in leather & 7kg in nomex.. leccy leather comfort seats weight over 30kg each!.. Pole Positons are ok but SPG'S are better & lighter still...

eta; i'm not arsed about air-con, but i do understand that it's absence could be a selling factor...

+1 for bucket seats - I would of thought driving position would not be as good without

Pah.

Buckets are are for undiagnosed anorexics and leaf eaters.

Possibly. wink

I'm always open for discussion and sensible offers, even though I'm not advertising.

Drop me a line if you want more details. smile

Hello mate, either really. When i get back from hols in mid january I might start looking properly. My long term plans have kind of changed a bit recently and for the next car I think I now want to minimise depreciation as its something i'll only run for 12-18 months max and then get out of it. The 6GT3 isn't a car that my whole body aches for but they are one of my favourite porsches to drive and I think i'd like to get into one at some point and they do make a lot of sense logistically. Yellow, Guards or zanzi would be useful.

Quite right too. I will probably sell mine one day, but yours, with all that work you have done and the resulting motor, no fking way!
