Porsche dream realised
Discussion
Hi guys my first post on this forum after being a long time lurker.
Previous cars have included a Clio sport 182 and more recently a vx220 for the past 6 years. Both great cars!
My life long dream of owning a porsche is soon to become a reality however, after today placing a deposit on a hartech prepared cayman S.
I'm fortunate that hartech are located very local to me and I am taking full advantage of that. I originally had settled on the 2.7 due to the well documented bore scoring issues of the 3.4, but when a rebuilt sorted S became an option, within budget, I just couldn't ignore it.
Grant has been great so far in talking me through all of the various options etc.
It's going to be a long wait over the christmas period now until I can pick it up later in January. :-)

Hi jules your a vx owner currently aren't you?
The cayman seems a suitable replacement in terms of balance and feel although much softer and not as raw. It's a more refined and grown up car in comparison.
Yep, the same Jules_s as is on .orgThe cayman seems a suitable replacement in terms of balance and feel although much softer and not as raw. It's a more refined and grown up car in comparison.
The trouble for me is I'm not doing any miles in the vx, and a cayman would be sat on the drive the same.
Not sure whether to tie up so much ££££ on something that wont be used that much

That's the reason I sold the vx as it was a second car and not being used. The intention is to make the cayman my everyday drive so that it gets used. I will be taking the hartech maintenance plan out which will cover the servicing/maintenance side of the ownership as well. The trouble for me is I'm not doing any miles in the vx, and a cayman would be sat on the drive the same.

us southerners are very jealous of you living near Hartech. One of the few positive attributes of living in the frozen northern wastelands!
Have to agree.
Congrats on the purchase anyway and also the added benefir of being able to sleep at nights with all of Baz's mods in place. Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
