Just bought a 2002 3.6 911 C2.

Im noticing a slight flat spot at 3,000 RPM, but only when the accelerator is pushed slightly (maybe 10% throttle) is this normal, it feels like a bit of a clunk... just as you hit 3,000 rpm.

Also the front brakes squeal if they get hot, but only on the last bit of stopping...

anyone help....

cheers

air filter? - until you said clunk.... could it be something to do with the variocam setup as it moves onto a diff set of lobes? Ask marquis_rex to comment, he's an engineer and seems to know his stuff.

Whatever, you do, don't go to a porsche service centre. I'm sure they get the answers to most questions off iced lolly sticks......

try colin @ 9M, or neil @ BS motorsport, or Andy F @ AmD....

Good luck.

At least it's clunk-click every trip though :-p

thanks for the input, maybe the clunk is in my mind, its only very slight, the car is 3 years old now to the day almost, but only done 5,500 miles when I got it 3 weeks ago (9,000 now....)

so I was wondering if that was anything to do with it..
