As per the title, there are many options listed for the car. Some are must haves, some are nice to haves and the rest........could be needless.

I'm finalising my desired spec for a 2006 model and have the 3 following must haves,

1) PSE
2) Bose sound system
3) Nav System

I know that this is down to personal choice but what 3 would you choose as being most worthwhile, also, does the car really need a rear wiper?

Must have option especially on an 06 is condition.

PSE is the only thing worth having which can easily be retrofitted.

Porsche warranty good to have especially if using as a daily or you intend to really push the car.

Not that I am an expert in buying these cars, but I had a spec in mind, but then things change when you find the right car, based on condition, history etc, to me sports seats, BOSE, and dark blue or black interior we're key, the sports exhaust on the 997 doesn't to my ear sound much different, isn't sports chrono now becoming a vital option?

I always go for heated seats first. I can imagine PSE could get a bit monotonous, the standard stereo is ok and my Google Maps on my iphone is better than the satnav (i'd rather get lost!), all IMHO. Good luck!

PSE huge difference on mine really adds to the experience.

SC only essential on turbo.

Most important thing is condition. The car will be 6/7 years old so focus on history and condition rather than spec. If possible, get the OPC warranty to give peace of mind, at that age of car it represents great value IMO.

Don't get hung up on NAV as the system on the 997.1 is not great - a current Tom Tom is miles ahead. Standard sound system is fine. PSE worth having.

Other things to watch for would be a desirable colour scheme, inside and out. Decent wheels are worth having.

Many thanks for the replies as it's invaluable to get owners/previous owners opinions.

I would certainly prefer black or dark grey with a black interior but If the right car was silver that would not deter me. I'm sure that the right car will come up quite quickly as there does seem to be a few at the moment that I would consider. I'm normally quite an impulsive buyer, I don't like to dither/kick tyres and will resist the temptation to view for a few more weeks until I have the money in my pocket as they say.

There are also a few available cars within the Porsche dealer network and these obviously come with a 2 year warranty. Hopefully if i went for one of these, there could be a little movement on price. I'm also monitoring the stock at the respectable Indies whose prices sometimes seem more expensive than the Main Dealers.

The message that I seem to be getting is that the correct car with warranty is more important than the options..............fair point i guess.

I am guessing you have viewed their website already, and they have a few that tick your boxes, but this one is great spec:

This is a great car but a little rich for me.
I have been looking at their website and they do have a couple around the 34k, one of which is a 4S.

They do seem to have a good reputation and are certainly worth considering.

Porsche Craft seem to have a few also. Mixed reviews on reputation though.

If the guys at Portiacraft have the car you like you will not go far wrong with them best after sales I have come across and no bullshxxxit.
Been around 3 times longer than the rest.
Lots of fans on Pistonheads.

I was going to ask what their reputation is like as I have been passing it almost everyday for the past 20 odd years. They do seem to sell the same cars over and over again.

Interesting. PSE wasn't on my list when I was looking to buy. I wouldn't want a sunroof at all. I wouldn't use heated seats either, which a lot of folk like. What I did want on a 997 (and found) was sat nav, rr park assist and cruise control. I also wanted black paint and black leather and was lucky enough to find all that in the car I now own. It does have rr wiper which I didn't want but I can live with that.

I have a C2S 997 Cabriolet registered Dec 2007 with most of the bits you want. Low mileage (c20,000) Meteor Grey with black interior - I have had since new but not using it enough now - so could be persuaded to sell - please PM if interested.
