insurance repairs
Discussion
Looking round for insurance quotes at the moment and talking to one chap at Churchill who said they use their own repair centres in the event of an accident.
This sounds a bit duff. I'd want mine repaired ata Porsche OPC or specialist.
Has anyone had experience of insurance repairs using non-Porsche garages ?

Dont use a non OPC repairer on a current car insurance co's will always want you to use one from there panel but they cant make you. you just need to get a couple of quotes. Body technics in slough do OPC Reading's work Solus specilist brands do OPC chiswick's body work both are very good and come with the porsche lifetime warentee on the repair. As far as I know both are approved by almost all insurers. Your local OPC will always tell you who they use and you can always then go direct to them.
Hope you get it sorted Bo

I don't actually need a repair or anything, I was just asking if anyone else had found this and been forced to go via an insurers own repair centre.
Talked to Churchill today and discussed this with them and they say I could use any approved repair centre (ie all Prosche OPCs) but just wouldn't get the courtesy car.
No great shakes then.
Admiral insisted they would make me use thier own repairs centres.
Can you imagine you P&J being bodged up in some horrible churn-em-out cut and shut place.... ?
[tear springs to my eye]

Not sure where you are in the country. If London way then try Charles Ivey in Chelsea. They did a supurb repair on the front quater of my old 993 C2 after a prang on the Nurburgring (it was drivable home). Attention to detail and pride in their work seemed high. I use them for servicing now too and have been happy.
