Think theres bit of a mark-up on it being RB's former car but cant believe it only done 1000 miles in 4 years;
2001 at 3814mls,
2002 at 4090mls,
2003 at 4273mls,
2004 at 4507mls,
2005 at 4799mls,
2006 at 5569mls,

Question is would you pay more because of who the previous owner was? Does not make it a more special car does it? Not like having racing provenance.

As aforementioned we are totally independant our sales are achieved purely by our hard work, meticulous preparation, making sure our cars stand out for their quality and staying bigger and better than the rest.

Unlike a lot of parasitic middleman practises we dont sponsor car forums hence you wont find us on any forums absolutely no point asking about us guys on there as you will only be directed to sour grapes, deposit scrounging forum sponsors and their brown lipped fanboys smile.
thumbup

Sorely missed; he was at the wheel of the GT3 when he passed out at the start of his battle....

think this is the same car RB was driving when his brain tumour condition suddenly made its presence known ...apparently RB suddenly slumped at the wheel whilst driving to the RAC rally, and his passenger (Marko Martin?) had to help bring the car to a safe halt

it's still a shock to realise that both Burns and McRae are no longer with us - those guys together with Sainz and Makkinnen plus some fantastic rally/road cars made the 1990's WRC truly great ! (unlike today's insipid offering)

Yeah, that old air-cooled 911 thingy that Steve McQueen drove in 'Le Mans' fetched peanuts, dinnit? ;-)

That featured in a movie. wink. I see regular ex David Beckham, Clarkson or that Morgan aero from the Hamster that was for sale. Does that give you pub bragging rights? If so, what person would be impressed by that confused ?

I think so yes. A great sounding car with an interesting history. Any rally fan looking for a GT3 would jump at this I'd imagine.

Ditto about Richard and Colin no longer being with us. Sobering thought. True artists behind the wheel.

I can't see colour or if car is a clubsport, both of which factor in desirability, but the rest sounds good. smile

Obviously his upside down off in the 2000 supercup at silverstone didn't put him off too much. Had no idea he had had a mk1.

He did buy a GT3 - there was also a rumour he picked up a GT1.

He definitely had a GT3.

Certainly. If I didn't have one already this would probably swing me. Needs checking out of course, but if its sorted then it's an extra interesting detail.

I understood he was in his 996 Turbo when he passed out on the M4. Marko Martin did indeed take over steering duties to bring the car to a safe halt.

His collection of cars can be found here : http://www.autosportif.co.uk/html/richard_burns.ht...

His Turbo came on the market some years ago, IIRC it was in the classifieds section of Autosport.

He was probably bored Neil, either that or struggling without pace notes smile Or just plain not used to having 20+ other adrenaline fuelled competitors jostling for the same bit of tarmac . . . . .

He cut his rallying teeth in an early 911 courtesy of Tuthill senior IIRC.

Yes it was a turbo he was at the wheel of when he passed out . I viewed that car when it came out of storage several years ago. Low miles but you could tell it had stood for a while . Ended up buying a GT3 CS that Marky911 has just bought off me .

People do though.

I remember many years ago seeing Princess Dianas black Mk1 RS Turbo up for sale for 10 grand, whilst she was still alive. This was double its value.

Oh how me and mates laughed at the time. We are not laughing now!!!!

Here is the collection -

ETA - Was the only black one, specially made for Diana.

There are one or two red ones out there that were used to promote the Datapost race cars.

Yep as per the other posts it was made specially for her.

I am pretty sure it was 'Ford Fair' in 1990 when I saw it. We thought £10k was hilarious.
