Is the 3.6 c2 in the lower tax band of £270 a year ? I have seen it quoted as the higher tax band , can any owners confirm ?
Prob looking at model year 2009 / 10 if it makes any difference.

I have a C2 997 with PDK (it's a 58 plate) and the road tax last year was £260, I suspect the manual is the same, though worth a check...

Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure it's only the PDK that gets in the lower band due to being capable of slightly lower emissions/better mpg. I can't see how a difference of £200pa would be a deciding factor in a £20k+ car where each rear tyre costs nearly double the difference?

Completely agree. I didn't much like parting with £475 to tax my 997 C2S a few days ago, but that's the price. When compared against the 4 tyres I need to buy soon, as thegoose says, it's not remotely a decider.

The manual and PDK gen2 C2 are both in the lower tax band.
Paying less tax may be a drop in the ocean when it comes to on the road costs, but it sure is satisfying on a car like this....

I wholly agree and I'm as keen as anyone to save some cash but in the scale of things, when you spend many tens of thousands of pounds on a car, it really doesn't figure in the final decision.

The way I see it is if there are two cars that meet my spec requirements the non S is going to be several £ks cheaper and lower tax to boot.
345 or 385 horses is not really a factor for me.

You might be surprised how different the C2 feels compared to the C2S.
The extra punch is definitely noticeable in the S, but the power delivery of the C2 is considered sweeter (by some)
