Interesting programme.
Impounding the guys Aventador because his insurance company was based in Kuwait and the Policeman couldn't run his usual lazy-ass checks on it seemed pretty harsh.
The residents seemed very old school towards foreigners but I'm sure I'd be pissed off too if I lived in that basement flat with Lambos screaming past all night, metres from my bed.
It is the centre of a capital city though and the money the home owners would get by selling up would surely get them a nice little place in the country if quiet is what they are after.
Highlight of the show was the residents meeting where they were all telling their stories of boy-racer inflicted hell and how they'd wrote letters to the Arab embassy etc, then the interviewer steps in and asks "Have you ever spoken to any of the boy racers about things?". Cue the deathly silence and a very quiet "Erm, no".

Some lovely cars there.
I was a bit concerned about the insurance bit and seizing the car. It looked as if he had an english translation of his insurance policy and certificate. If this was so, he was wronged. Imagine you went to another non EU country and you had all the documents but your car was seized ? The programme never answered this properly.
Their driving was not on though, unsafe, yet they were nt done for that.

It seems a lot of the complaints were not just about the noisy cars, but the influx of Arabs. I have little sympathy for the residents. The direct investment of Arabs, Russians, et al. has contributed to massive increases in London property prices and they spend £100Ms in local shops. I do agree the supercar chaps could drive a little more considerately though.

Last summer there were two very high end cars, with mathching black and lime paint jobs, impounded by the police with Arab plates on them (by that I mean in Arabic so unreadable here). I had seen them in Berkeley Square and then they were in the news as they had parked out the front of Harrods and were taken away. From memory one was a Koeninssiggessggggeegg.
There was no record of them entering the country or who they belonged to. Nice to have such cars as consumables!!

Ragging automotive awesomeness around in 30 zones is pretty crass and unpleasant, but not as unpleasant as the thinly veiled racism from the residents. It's not their ethnicity which determines their behaviour.
And so it goes: history it would seem, repeats itself.
Shame on them.

Interesting wasn't it ?
I think if the residents had had a face to face with some of the lads they would have found them respectful and courteous. They came across simply as decent young lads albeit with oodles of dosh.
Can you imagine having access to that sort of machinery in your 20s ? or even your 40s for that matter ? I think I'll stick to my old Porsches ( not that I have much choice at the moment. Ha
The racism was bang out of order and as someone suggested, selling a flat in Knightsbridge would buy you a lovely place in the countryside with all the other Daily Fascist readers.
Thought it was cool when the Ferrari driver gave the car spotter a spin. Also, funny that the lads will end up in Toyota Land Cruisers when families come along.
