Hi Guys
Can anyone give me an idea on the type of discount I should be aiming for on a 991 C2S, i'm looking at either new build or a stocked car and realise there will be more discount on a stocked car. I have always near as damn it had to pay nearr RRP for my last 2 but after reading these forums I see I should get a discount but my 2 local OPC's of which 1 I don't want to deal with due to a bad experience are both stating RRP on both stock and new.
Help please anyone, I need some ammo
Thanks

I think you'll get all sorts of inflated advice, IMO some of which will be all keyboard talk, the best way is to contact as many dealers as you can visit. Can anyone give me an idea on the type of discount I should be aiming for on a 991 C2S, i'm looking at either new build or a stocked car and realise there will be more discount on a stocked car. Hayzi - you may be missed the boat on a good discount. There were some very deep discounts (for Porsche) before year end as they were trying to clear stock. They were prepared to write off all front end and back end margin for the sake of a volume bonus, capped at £10k. Deals were still available between Christmas and New Year as a friend also bought a 991.
The story on the street this year is that they are going to choke supply to hold new prices and protect residuals - but this is hearsay.
Best thing to do is push - there are still cars in stock unsold.

Have you bought a 991 recently?
bought March 1st, if you have just purchased a car late last year it will be effectively a year old now, (as is mine) so what you've gained in discount you'll have lost in residualsEdited by Tony 1234 on Friday 4th January 11:17

You have lost me. I bought a car in November that was registered in November and made a couple of months earlier. Why would I have lost out in residuals? It is effectively a two months old.

Work out your exact spec prior to visiting an opc, Visit your local one first. Tell them what discount you feel is fair. Be prepared to walk away if you don’t get it. On to the next one. Chances are, you will be able to pick up a spec changeable cancelled order….in my view you should be aiming for 8-10k, For a no part ex cash purchase.

? I am confused ,as surely if you didnt get discount you would have suffered even worse depreciation ? If I bought an 80k car at 70k and it was now worth 60k I would have lost 10k,if i didnt get discount it would be worth 6ok and would have cost me 20k ,so I am not understanding the post.

I bought my 991 new to my spec last March. No discount but did get a free extra set of matts. Salesman did say that there are discounts on stock cars. If you have a Porsche to trade there will also be good deals. Then try to sell on PistonHeads. I did and made an extra £3500 on what Porsche would offer. Hope this helps a bit.

Porsche have had a fairly decent couple of years so I think discounts are getting a bit harder to get hold of. I am due to order my new car as soon as specs come out (Macan) and I am expecting zero discount TBH.
Not quite the same thing though, as the market for the Macan is much larger.Over 1,100 991's imported into the UK in 12 months and where are they all? 10% are on the OPC Network and I bet a fair whack are in compounds somewhere waiting for buyers.
