Is it just me, or do others find the adaptive sports sets not particularly comfortable?
I took the turbo on its first real drive last friday to Brussels and back via the tunnel, and for the life of me I just couldn't get the seat set up to be comfortable!
if anything, there are too many adjustment options which make it so difficult to get the position 'just right'
Really wish I'd gone for the standard seats now.....smile

Happy to do a seat swap with you if you'd like standard seats :-)

Don't know about this - I've had sports seats which I found fine and buckets (which are awesome, best car seats I've ever sat on!)

Thats ironic, in my search I am insisting to Adaptive Seats because of the ability to get the adjustment just so.

Buckets > Standard > Sports

From best to worst to me, I'm not powerfully built though so mileage may vary.

Ditto the others - the amazing range of adjustments means that (for me) these are the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a car! cloud9

My advice is sit stationary with the ignition on - put the seat all the way back on it's lowest setting - flat with no tilt, lumbar, with thigh and torso bolsters wound all the way out. Gradually move in and up to what feels good. Sit in it for a couple of minutes, play with the radio etc, save the setting in your non preferred slot (e.g. number 2 or 3) and take it for a spin! You can always move it back to your previous setting ..... assuming your current settings are in number 1!

As a company director I need the most powerful seats you can get.

On a serious note, what are all the different types of buckets you can get now. As I understand it, there are 964RS/993RS type (basically Recaro PPs right?), 996/997 GT3 buckets, carbon Carrera GT buckets, Boxster Spyder / Cayman R buckets and folding buckets. And they are all distinct! Is that correct or did I miss one?

I insisted on adaptive sport seats in my current 997 as I found the seats in my 987 Boxster uncomfortable on journeys of 2 hours plus. It did take me a few months to get the nuances of tilt, position, steering wheel position etc exactly how I like it, and it is comfortable, but no more so on long drives. Thinking an XKR might be better.

I have the adaptive sports seats in my 997 C4S and think they are excellent - Semi-frequently do 300 mile trips without any problems whatsoever.

I found the adaptive seats probably the best I'd ever had or sat in!
I did do a lot of Euro trips and only after a very long time did I get any niggles in my back...

I've recently sold the Turbo and already realised how much I miss them, certainly would be on my spec next time round.

Adjustment on adaptive seats did it for me, could not have lived with buckets for long journeys.

You might have hit the nail on the head.
My last car was a 2011 xkr, and the seats were awesome!
Maybe I am expecting too much from the Porsche seats!

Adaptive will suit the vast majority of users, because of the numerous permuations of settings.

But, you'll need 'memory' because, once you've found the ultimate comfort, you won't appreciate someone changing the settings.

About the same as the turbo to be honest.
17 round town and about 22/23 on a run.
Great car, and epic value for money, but I just fancied a change as I'd had 2 on the run.
Will probably keep the turbo 12 months and then go for an XKR-S
