Having owned a few 997's over the years I got to thinking that my ideal porsche would have a slight suspension lift to cope with the odd track etc. I know this sounds daft but it would mean that I could use a 997 as my daily transport rather than have to resort to the default choice of a Cayenne! Audi have done it with the Allroad and I think they pulled the look off pretty well. Essentially an a6 with added practicality. Even Porsche themselves have done it in the past, namely the safari spec 911 'Rothmans' car etc. What do you all think? Yes the handling would be compromised slightly but it should still be an engaging car to drive? Has anyone done something along these lines? Or should I keep taking the tablets!?

It is possible to understand your reasoning, however it would turn you into a laughing stock.

Not a 959, its a 953.
Carrera 3.0 RSR with manually controlled 4 wheel drive quickest way of describing it, built for '84 Dakar

there was a 953, but that isn't it

it just looked like a high up, narrow-body, impct bumper 911 with a whale tail
