Hi everyone,

I have just put a deposit on this 997 GT2 http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... and wondering if anyone know any previous history of the car.

Price wise it looks expensive but it's coming with allot of optional extras, 2 years warranty from Porsche as well as 4,447 Mileage.

What you think? Paid bit more ? biggrin

Looks nice with some nice options and RS upgrades, seem to remember they wanted a lot of money for it.

There's hardly any for sale at the moment though so it's probably about the best one smile

4500 miles is superb, mine's just hit 22,000, can't stop using it biggrin

Nice to see that OPC West London are still selling my car 10 months after I bought it rolleyes

Many congratulations on buying Porsche's best ever 911 cool

I love the RS bits, really funk up the look. Are the parts genuine factory carbon and any idea who supplied and fitted them ?

Congrats on buy, they are superb cars.

What happened to the original parts that were replaced during RS look conversion?

Shame that it's hasn't got the touch screen PCM system. Other than that the 997 GT2 is now very good value for money unless you paid the thick end of £140,000 for a new one!

Has it been in for the recall on the clutch switch. Mine went into OPC Tonbridge where they changed the starter motor under warranty (kept jamming and sometimes didn't want to start) and the clutch switch at the same time.

I'm running mine on Michelin SuperSports at the moment. Cold weather and rain (and 530bhp) make the Michelin Cup Tyres handling a bit too lairey so they're now sitting on a spare set of wheels ready for the better weather.

That photo shows PCM.2 not PCM.3

My previous car had PCM.2 and it was a PITA having to put a sim card in if we wanted to use the phone. Later system has iPod connection, Bluetooth and touch screen functions. So if yours now has PCM.3 someone must have spent a fortune doing what must have been a complicated job.

The GT2 was good value for money when new, depreciation is pretty good for this type of car (unless like a cock the owner had modded the value out of it hehe)
Why endless snide depreciation commentary on this forum, bloody boring and chav IMVHO

I don't look often but it seems values are holding up very well indeed. One I was involved with sold for £100,000 3 years ago (black, 2009MY, mega spec, 1100 miles, still under original warranty at the time).

Nice position to be in if someone can afford to bin £50,000 in three years.A bit rich for me in these economic times. Depreciation is a well known fact of sportscar/supercar ownership. I did buy a new 997 GT3 RS and binned £27,000 in the time I owned it. That smarts. Glad I did it the once but the economics don't stack up for me. Very pleased with my 997 GT2 and the price I paid was excellent. Hopefully it's done most of it's money and will now depreciate at a rate I find more palatable. Does it mean you're a chav and boring if you acknowledge the facts about depreciation?

Looks great. Those carbon parts must have cost a fortune to spec.
