3.8 GT3 RS prices in free fall...
Discussion
Nice to see prices finally falling to realistic levels due to the pending release of the 991 GT3.

The 3.8 RS is a great car.

I do laugh at the stuff spouted on here..."free fall"??? http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

That seems about right for a 2010 car, with that mileage, not special spec, and non-OPC.

Freefall, we wish. Thats a private add with 11500miles, top money imo.
Take a look at the leeds RS it has gone up £2k this week, to £98k.
Yes, not free fall + private seller with high mileage. However, OPC obviously didnt want to know or offered him sub £80k possibly ??.Take a look at the leeds RS it has gone up £2k this week, to £98k.

Exactly!
The "freefall" bit was slightly dramatic.

I wonder what opc cardif paid for the one they have just sold at £85k then?£75k ?
The car above is a decent spec - good colour combo, lift, PCM, folding buckets, club sport. The mileage adjust plus extended warranty cost is way smaller than the £10k premium on the OPC cars that are close to £100k.

The o/p was about RS prices, a well speced one was circa 115k, I would expect a well speced 991 RS to be circa 130-135k
I'll raise you.If Porsche follow suit with the pricing of new models such as the Ferrari hike in prices from 430 to 458 I expect a well specced GT3 will be £120k - £130k and the RS (when it materialises) will be nearer £150k
I maybe wrong but this IMO will cause 997.2 GT3 + RS prices to lift / remain firm

Any OPC will have at least £15k in such a car. Equivalent Ferrari's at the 100k price point will have 15 - 20k in them£75k ?
Biggest cost is not depreciation but the differential between trade & retail

So you reckon they paid £70k at the most
Maybe £75k and price was reduced to move some stock through in Jan
There has to be significant margins in cars at this price point as they are depreciating monthly, prep & warranty costs, sales staff & big plush showrooms have to be paid for
