Hi, getting a set of new dust and main seals is proving kinda hard from Porsche. I took a pair of GT2 6 piston calipers to a Porsche dealer today for some new seals ( the old ones are missing ) and the parts guy doesn't know what size seals I need despite having the part number of the calipers to hand.

All 6 pistons seem a different size and the bore holes are also all different , then add that the piston size on the head of the piston is different to the body of the piston , means I'm lost what to order .

Any help would be appreciated.

Got details of the car that the calipers came off, year, model, etc. + the caliper part number? I can have a look at the Porsche PET (should be in there) and see if it is definitive. At worst I might be able to email you the PET diagram with the listing of all the relevant part numbers.

Hi , thanks for the reply . The part number for the calipers is 996.351.431.30 & 996.351.432.30

I bought them for another car , so I don't know what model year they are from , only that they are the yellow GT2 6 piston caliper. I can probably get the Brembo part number for the dust seals, something which the parts advisor said wouldn't be of any use though ...

Cheers

Those part numbers are giving me error codes (P.No. doesn't exist) so that must be because on the work machine I've only got PET 5.0 going up to the year 2000. I'll have a look at home coz I did download PET 6.0, just haven't installed it yet coz I'm running an older porker and didn't need to!

Will get back to you if I have any luck.

AGGGHHHH . Why is this proving so hard ? I don't see how giving the dealer the part numbers of the calipers and saying, I'd like a set of new dust and main seals please , is such a problem .

Now I get a print out in which I'm meant to pick what seals I think I need . So I measure both the piston size and make a note of the 3 different sizes ( 6 pots remember ) and then do the same for the dust seals . Now all the different sizes for both sets of seals doesn't give me a match for the sizes listed on the print-out of part numbers the dealer thinks it may be.
