Additional maintenance tasks when not using car regularly?
Discussion
My car has now been on the drive unused for over 2 weeks with all this bad weather and is plugged into a CTEK battery conditioner.
I've not done anything e.g. start the engine, move the car etc...
Just wondering if there are some routines that you do when the car is not being used for weeks/months to prevent issues later on?
I have read a few sources (more relating to classic cars in long term storage) that you should start the car up periodically and leave it run until warmed up, move the car so tyres dont get flat spot in one place, fill the fuel tank up to stop water forming etc....

I get the car serviced before it's winter hibernation. Then once it's in "storage" I check the tyre pressures every two weeks, make sure there absolutely on the max of Porsches recomendations.
Also push the car around, helps prevent tyre and bearing flat spots. Get in the car and check all the electrics, turn the fan on etc. Good way of finding out if you've got any mice squating / eating your precious wiring................As they did with me 2 years ago.

My track car sits in the garage from about November until late February. It's kept hooked up to a CTEK and in addition I start it and run it up to operating temperature about every 4 weeks, run it up and down the drive a few times to work brakes, clutch, etc, and keep the tyres over inflated by about 5-6 psi.
I work away for three months at a time, as above advice really, additionally:-
Leave out of gear.
Handbrake off.
Cover with cotton bed sheets, easier to put on and wash and far cheaper than expensive car covers.
Buy some water collecting traps. £5 from b and q helps keep interior moisture free, even in well insulated garages.
Tax disc off, sorn it and claim any months back left on it.
