Hi,

Does anybody know this cars history or anything about the dealer? I have had my eye on the Gt3 at 911virgin for a while and it seems a very similar car and price . Any help or thoughts appreciated.

I was planning on going to see the car this weekend, as its infinitely closer than the 911virgin car for me to visit.

you need to post on the Lotus forum for the dealer question. The only thing that might put some people off the car is that it is quite high on the miles for a car of its type & hence might be more difficult to sell on though like everything is price sensitive. Good luck & it looks good in the photos biggrin

Its hardly high mileage mate. At that price and that year its a good prospect.

It looks lovely. One of the owners has had grilles fitted to the front rad. ducts which might indicate track use but its a GT3 and is built for that rah rah rah...

I don't know the car myself, but the usual diligence - check panel paintwork shades, panel gaps, orange peel paint finish to ascertain whether it's likely to have had repairs. Check suspension top mounts, have ecu interrogated for over revs and generally a good poke around.

There are a few horror story cars around so it's well worth the extra diligence in your checks.

Good luck - they're funking awesome cars. I can't wait to get another (of some variety).

Performance Friction brakes in place of ceramics; grilles over intakes - tracked - but quite possibly very well looked after. Wouldn't put me off.

Think this is my old car, had it for a year. Moved on to a gen 2 RS. But it was great, used it on track, had a complete history, no issues up to jan 2012 when I sold it.

if in any doubt, particularly on a GT3, get an independent check done - I am no expert so I used Peter Morgan and was happy with the service, but plenty of others around - they generally check over 200 points and let you know things that the 111 point Porsche check are not obliged to. I wanted to know if mine had had any accident damage/new paint etc where as the porsche check is just to cover their own warranty parts (if the car has been worked on by an approved Porsche repair centre they probably will not mention any damage)

Just had a look at SELOC (Lotus forum), very positive feedback on Pure Lotus.

This is typical of several reviews on SELOC

"To All, Just wanted to share this with you I had an amazing experience today when I visited Pure Lotus (Whetherby) today for them to have a look at engine management light today on my car. Customer service was beyond expectations and both Jay and Danny made me feel very welcome that I almost didnt want to leave. I was offered a drink and whilst my car was being looked at, I was able to browse the surroundings and the vast amount of items they had for sale, as well as being able to sit down and drink my coffee of course. And what really did it for me was there Danny there technician, I learnt more from him than anywhere else about the Lotus Elises and their potential problems, he is a Lotus Elise expert and he put a smile on my face. Overall Pure Lotus, is an excellent specialist garage and their prices are great too."
