Who has a letter on intent in on a 991 GT3 ?
Discussion
I've had my letter in for a couple of years. But rumours of PDK only and no Metzger have made me very nervous to the extent that I've decided against handing over £10k until I've driven one (with that spec it sounds like a slightly tuned 991 rather than a bespoke car). If the drive is that much better than my 997.2 GT3 then I'll get one, but I seriously doubt it's going to be £60k+ better (what it would cost me to change). I love my current car.
I've had 5 GT3s, so obviously not going ahead with this order is a big decision for me.

Despite reading everywhere in internetland how crap the car will be, I've had a LOI in at the local OPC for what seems like an eternity. Will be speccing it for fast road/Eurohoon trip use. Intending to keep it and run it long term.
I was anti all flappy paddle boxes until going berserk on an Italian mountain road in a PHer's CSL last year... I'm using PDK on the new car as an excuse to keep my manual 996TT, got to get my manual box fix from somewhere.
Can't wait for the phonecall to spec it.

Too many rumours about the car going in the wrong direction. Hence no LOI but wait and see what the finished article will be like. Must be a real cracker though to lure me out of my 7.2 GT3
Was there the same love for the 7.1 GT3 before the 7.2 GT3 was released, and 6GT3 to 7.1. GT3.And what happened around the 993RS time to the 6GT3 in 1999.
Often it is the same people upgrading so it seems the seduction finally wins out.
Porsche are very astute. I've no doubt it will move the bar yet higher in terms of its road and track capabilities. However, I'd also expect an otr price, with all the desirable spec, creeping up to c.£140,000.
I honestly believe the flagship 991 GT3s and Turbos, will be positioned further away from the base models and closer to Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, territory.

That would be quite a hefty increase, what's the thoughts on an OPC trade in price for a decent spec Gen2 in 6 months time, 70-75k ??I honestly believe the flagship 991 GT3s and Turbos, will be positioned further away from the base models and closer to Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, territory.

In that case it will be , new GT3 or lightly used 458. I honestly believe the flagship 991 GT3s and Turbos, will be positioned further away from the base models and closer to Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, territory.
