Question for OggyDJ
Discussion
Hi Oggy, as per the title.... quick question regarding the exhaust tips that you got from Design911. Just wondering about the fitting. Did any adjustments (cutting plastic away) have to be made to the bumper or did the bumper have to be removed for the tips to be fitted? If anyone else has done the same any advice will be appreciated.
Hi Pete,
No, it's just one bolt for each side. No cutting or bumper removal required, they are a direct replacement for the standard ones. Only slight negative I found was that (unlike the std ones) the bolt head is not welded to the upper side of the bracket and hence, when you tighten the nut from below the car, the head can turn meaning you can't tighten them up sufficiently. Fixed this with a couple of washers I bought from the local hardware shop (to hold the head in place while being tightened from below).
Here is a picture of the standard one, fitting is exactly same except bolt head not welded as I mentioned.

(You also get some packing pieces included as shown in case your pipes not big enough to fill the hole completely....no pun intended
)
Thanks for your interest ! Have had several people comment on them now and I also think they really make the backend of the car look a lot more interesting (only a shame they don't make it sound more interesting
).

Post up a piccie if you decide to fit them, here's mine again.
Cheers,
Doug.
