Boxster 986 CDR23 head unit sound cutting out

hi i need help with my
2004 Boxster 986 with a CDR23 head unit but the sound keep cutting out randomly
it will com on ok with sound but then randomly there will be a zap sound from the speeches
and then the head unit will go off and on and reset but now there is not sound. it may com
back in mins or hears you never no what can i do about this
