Hi - my hubby has a 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa and we would like to do a bit of work to it before (hopefully) taking it to Le Mans next year. It mainly needs new seals all round, some refurb work to the targa roof in addition to a new exhaust system (!) and a respray although the respray isn't entirely necessary (he would say it is though...). We have been ripped off a bit in the past when doing work to this car and I would be grateful for any advice as to where to source some of these parts we need. It's my hubby's birthday coming up soon and I was hoping to buy some of these parts for him but get very confused looking online! Is there anywhere anyone can recommend in the UK that I can source parts? I live offshore but can arrange shipping to my location. The exhaust system is, I imagine, going to be the biggest expense.

Would appreciate any help or advice anyone has to offer - thanks! smile

+1 give them a call and they'll tell you what they've got / not got for your car. Best wishes with the restoration.

First point of call is always a Porsche centre. Often they are cheapest, and many other specialists just buy in parts from Porsche and add a mark-up as people are too stupid to check!.

I bought some bits from type911 recently; Matthew was very open about parts he could do cheapest, and recommended me to an ebay supplier for some he couldn't price-match. Great service.
