So . . . i am on the quest for a convertible as a weekend car for the coming year, and pretty much have set my sights on an Elise SC, but before I commit will be looking at alternatives! Only two must-haves at the moment appear to be rwd and manual. So far looked at an Aston Martin V8 (4.3) Vantage and the above-mentioned Elise SC.

I have never done any researching Porsches so have ended up this evening narrowing the classifieds filters down to these two cars below, (havent looked on AT yet!). Unfortunately the Turbo appears to be 4WD, but the price seems reasonable, given the apparently low mileage, or am I missing something? I am hoping to go and view it tomorrow and if there is time view the C2S later in the day. Viewing these, in essence just to see if I might like a 911 Cab of some kind as a weekend toy.

Has anyone been to view either or have any comments on the dealers involved? Also if anyone has any comments as to what I need to specifically check. Are there any weak points on these cars?

Any input gratefully received. Cheers smile

Is it my imagination or does the Turbo's driver's seat appear to be showing a reasonable amount of wear compared with others of the same age and greater mileage?

Turbo's are all 4wd, so if you want rwd, you need to rule out the turbo. It would be noticeably quicker than the C2S though.
Those seats look like the ruffled factory option, rather than wear.
The turbo's do have a different engine to the standard 911's. Try a search on IMS.

There are plenty of comments on the second dealer...... do a search. I think you'd struggle to find any positive comments about HWM.

Well I never! I'd be embarrassed to tell anyone if I specced that myself. smile
