964 Heater problem

I have a little problem with my 964 Turbo.
The heater fan refuses to run as soon as the temp dial is turned to anything above cold.
The problem was intermittent for a while and now appears to be permanent.
Anyone got any clues as to what could be wrong?

On N/A 964s this is usually caused by the rear blower motor dying, and is usually accompanied by it blowing the fuse in the engine compartment. I imagine the turbo is basically the same.

The turbo has 2 rear fans, one in each wheel arch.
I can hear them running, so it would appear that they are ok.
