Cayman R - Learnt my lesson in the wet today. Didn't crash!
Discussion
Having a little banter with a TT. Entered onto a road with 2 lanes the gunned it. All was fine 2nd gear high revs then into third, then all I can think is that I hit a patch of standing water and was then looking out the front left of the windscreen.
Recovered ok, thank god. Was natural reaction and in my opinion did well to recover. However that's upto judgement.
RWD in the wet + CR + full means in a straight line = bad combo.
Just my day.

With that much bhp on tap on a very wet day, I'm surprised you're surprised it happened. Recovered ok, thank god. Was natural reaction and in my opinion did well to recover.

Part of being a good driver is less reliance on electronics and more nonse on using the right foot at appropriate times, appropriately in certain weather conditions..
Just think your lucking you don't drive a big engine TVR.

'Racing' (which is how PC Plod might see it) on the public highway also not a good idea. Best to learn to drive it properly with a driver coach under controlled conditions. Don Palmer's 'wetter the better' course is highly recommended.Few years ago collecting my 996 turbo from the body-shop
during a discussion with the boss, he told me he couldn't believe how many drivers trashed Boxsters exiting roundabouts.
If I remember basic polar moment of inertia stuff , mid engine is great . . . until, it lets go, at which stage you are like a spinning- top with the weight in the middle.
Guess the same applies to Caymans (more or less). Less pendulam effect than a 911, but it has its own way of killing you.
