I have just purchased a 997.1 Turbo and am now looking for some summer wheels and tyres. What wheels are most people using? I'm currently looking at:

BBS CH-Rs 8.5 Front and 12 Rear

19 OZ Ultraleggera HLT 8.5 Front and 11 Rear.

Are there any other wheels that anyone would reccommend? I want to stay with 19s.

I also need to decide on summer tyres. Ideally I want to be using MPSS but the 'N' rating is not due until 2014 for the 997. Are the Pirellis any good for a little bit of track driving or do they go off very quickly like the PS2s?

I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels but CHR's are quite nice. There are always used originals for sale on here or eBay, the OZ's look very chavvy IMO.

I have winter tyres that will go on the OEM wheels but I am not a huge fan of them. I might try and find some Gen 2 wheels but they are very expensive.

+1, lovely light wheel, and imho much better looking than the std 997 Turbo wheels.

After having a look around, I have also found some Breyton Race GTS-Rs that fit the Turbo. Does anyone have any experience with them? They are very reasonable for a forged wheel and quite a bit lighter than the HLTS.

For 3500 quid? No thank you. HLTs are 2000€ for a set and the Breytons are 2200€ a set. Having just bought the car and paying a huge insurance bill, Fuchs are just not a viable option even though they would look great.

Thanks but I have a set fitted to the car and they will be used as winter wheels. I'm not too keen on the design though. I'm getting a set of HLTs (most likely) soonish.

The RS Spyder rims look epic. Would I be right in saying they're standard fit on the Turbo S?

Yep standard on Turbo S. They won't fit a gen1 Turbo though as they're centre locks.

Some late Gen 1s do have CL wheels. I've seen three for sale so far in the past 4 months but only in Germany. A set of Spyder wheels is the thick end of 5k though!

Only available on gen2 in the UK unless someone has changed their gen1 hubs etc.

I have purchased some HLTs in black today to go with some Super Sports I picked up yesterday.

I used Wheelbase in Oldham for the alloys and cannot reccommend them enough. Very good prices and service.

Thanks for the advice and I can't wait 'til the weekend when I pick the car up.
