996 Starter Motor
Discussion
Hello
Can anyone tell me where the starter motor is on the engine or how to get to it, is it easy?
I think I have a loose conection.
Turn key, click, turn key, click, turn key, very slow, couple seconds, then starts, battery is brand new.
Feels like there is a loose conection?
Regards
Steve

In an air cooled 911 they are hidden away and diffcult to get at, from memory. I would guess that the watercooled 911 is no better, if not a lot worse.
Defo sounds like the starter motor is on the way out. Mileage is not necessarily a good indicator of how long they last. I have had 'new' ones go within 12 months.
