I've just been speaking with the OPC where I bought my 997 Turbo from and asked if there was any further news on the 991 Turbo debut. The salesman said the last quarter of 2013 was still being mentioned and that he'd heard that the Turbo S would be released first, followed by the Turbo!

Seems strange that Porsche may do this, anyone else heard the same?

This rumour has been swirling around for a while now, it was on the PCGB forum recently but my OPC denies all knowledge...

Or do what they did in 1989 (?) - claim that Turbo production was at an end, that provided a real fillip in 2nd hand prices. wink

I'm sure that's just internet conjecture. However, it's true that the unexpected launch of the Gen 2 Turbo S so soon after the Gen 2 Turbo must have upset a few people.

I understand the 991 Turbo models will be launched towards the end of 2013 with the first UK cars being delivered from early 2014. I'm guessing it will move significantly upmarket with prices to match.

Getting closer to MP4 12 C pricing?

I suppose that's not too bad if that is a well specced car, including PCCB. The 997 Turbo S was almost £130k.

Had a look at Macca Spyder as they can now be ordered with MSO front and rear bumpers which ape the GT3/HS car and look far better IMO, Will be driving in next few weeks . Ditto 458 Spyder.

They're well out of turbo money though as £200k list but a sympathetically specified car is £240k- £250k. Updated MSO Macca optional MSO bumper front is £13k and rear bumper £12k.

Can't wait to see if they float my boat.

Saw an MP4-12C outside Minster Court in London yesterday - first time I've seen one 'in the flesh' and it is a stunning car, particularly in the dark red colour that this one was painted in!

Does it belong to anyone on here?

I was one of them,! I ordered and received a 997gen II Turbo cab in ruby red in Sep 09.. When I went to pick it up from the OP in April 2010 i was cheesed off to say the least to see an exact same colour Turbo S cab. When i spoke to the salesmen he made it even worse by saying the other customer had seen my ruby red one and ordered the exact same spec and colour when he saw mine in the OP garage but in Turbo S form. Had I known it was coming out so soon I would have gone for the S variant.. Not happy

For that kind of money I would expect peeps would want the car to be loaded but knowing Porsche of late they will pump the price and still refuse to trim the cabin fully in leather.

Maybe it also lets them bring out something silly fast with all the stops pulled out to silence the GTR fans temporarily and then if the standard Turbo comes out and is around the same performance as the GTR they won't get ribbed so much.

Pure conjecture but you can guarantee that whichever one they bring out will immediately be compared performance-wise to the GTR!

Given whats happening to standard 991 they probably want to mop up the major money with the more expensive car. Best discount I've heard of is 17k on 991.

I wouldn’t read to much into the above post. 17k off list on a build to spec 991 is BS, in my view. I was very lucky to get 10k…..

I was offered a built to spec 991 S for 117€ including a spare set of winter wheels. Considering they are worth just over 5k€ and built to spec cars with good options are 125-130k€s I can sort of believe the 17k pounds off.
