hello all !

Will the exhaust silencer rear boxes i tool off my 2003 996 carrera ( and installed the sports exhaust ) fit into a 2000 996 carrera 4 3.4lt car ? does anyone know ?......

The boxes are the same fitting to the cats but the tail pipes lengths are different. The tail pipe has a shorter fitting on the early box.

You can get the earlier tips from all sorts of aftermarket suppliers which will make them look new (as far as a quick glance will tell)

I think the only difference in tailpipe lengths is due to the different design of rear PU. Therefore the 3.6 boxes should fit the 3.4 car with the standard 3.4 tailpipes.

The exhausts itself are interchangable, the exhaust tips aren't -due to the different rear bumper design.

One of the back boxes started blowing on my 1999 C2 with PSE. Also a bracket was rusting through. Chose to replace the whole catback as I couldn't find the parts and it was uneconomical to replace like for like.

Bought a Milltek on the 'bay and had it fitted locally by an indie for about 600 all in. Job done!
